Because—well—because, as it happens to all of us, life threw events at me that shook me to the core.
Life's demands took me away from my calling, and then that distance created a void inside me. Four years went by without me touching a canvas or picking up a pencil.
That void created a deep yearning to feel alive again.
When I restarted my art, it was like eating the first morsel after starving for days: I felt truly alive and inspired for the first time in years. This feeling was way too important to take lightly!
Art had brought my soul back to life! That is when I wondered how I could help others like me who yearn for art.
So, I created 'RestartArt' to help you rekindle your relationship with art and rediscover the joy, meaning, and fulfilment it brings to your life.

Hi, I’m Parul (pronounced PAH-rull).
I’ve been creating art since I was two years old, and over the years, I’ve exhibited my work in India and London, taught art in schools, and worked as an illustrator and copywriter for McCann WorldGroup.
I’m a trained artist, with these qualifications:
MFA, Chelsea College of Art, University of the Arts London
BFA, College of Art, New Delhi, India (Dean’s List)

How Mastering Drawing and Colour Opens the Doors to Abstraction
Drawing is the skeleton of art.
It trains you to develop a visceral grasp of the world around you. It etches a deep understanding of form, distance, perception, texture, depth, etc., into your mind and seeps that understanding into your muscle memory. A well-trained artist in drawing can handle colour far more effectively.
Colours breathe life into drawing
Colours are attractive, but without solid training in drawing, you can easily feel lost, irritated, or intimidated. The visceral understanding that drawing gives you guides your brushwork and informs your colour choices. It marks the difference between art that looks flat and art that looks alive!As you progress, you learn how various pigments interact, how they represent your ideas, and how to control them. . . . You realise that colours tend to move beyond your conscious control—both literally and emotionally. This opens the window into abstraction.
Abstraction: Where Deep Mysteries Open Up
At this stage, a trained eye of an artist starts to notice how art has a life of its own, which is beyond their direct control. The accidents in art open up interesting discoveries; your personal symbolism starts to emerge, your experimentation grows deeper, and your art becomes a melting pot of deep philosophies, worldviews, and explorations of the world outside or within. . . . It's a deeply freeing personal stage.Freedom is fun when it is under your control; otherwise, very quickly, it can confuse you. Similarly, without a strong grasp of the vehicles of drawing and colour, abstraction can confuse or daunt you. But, with the right practice, a trained artist takes flight!
